Mr. Harris has represented clients for thirty years in personal injury, workers compensation, business and commercial disputes, real estate fraud, breach of contract, and criminal cases ranging from first degree murder to DWI.

He strives to provide his clients with  the highest quality legal representation on a personal basis for a reasonable fee. He earned his Juris Doctor and Masters of  Business Administration degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, 1979, and his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, 1975.

He began his legal career with an old line litigation firm in Southwest Virginia representing many of the major insurance companies in personal injury and workers compensation cases.  He also represented national businesses with significant interests in the coal, mineral and transportation industry in southwest Virginia.

Practicing in Northern Virginia since 1984, he has concentrated his practice in the areas of litigation and trial work--civil and criminal  primarily personal injury, automobile accident cases, workers compensation and business and commercial litigation.

In the first televised criminal trial in Virginia in 1992, Commonwealth of Virginia v. Carter, he and co counsel successfully defended William Douglas Carter, a Middleburg,Virginia businessman,  charged with shooting his wife in her head in the midst of an acrimonious divorce.  Following a two week trial, the juryís not guilty verdict was particularly satisfying because Mr. Carter had previously been convicted of the same charge several years earlier when represented by another lawyer but was awarded a new trial on his appeal.
